The Vow

I just finished reading this book this morning at the gym. WOW...is all I can say. I saw the movie when it came out and really wanted to read the book also to be able to get the real life story and not the movie version.

I thought the movie was good...except for the ending! I definitely cried during it. All I could think of all the 'what if's' for my own life. I understand the movie was inspired by a true story...but it still made me cry that a couple actually went though this. The reason I didn't like the ending because you never know actually what happens to the couple. I know they changed many things in the movie from what happened in real life...but the ending was pretty abrupt, I thought. They did have some words at the end that told you what actually happened to the couple in real life, but it would have been nice to be seen.

Another reason I really liked the movie was because of the actors. I mean...Channing Tatum is not that bad to look and I LOVE Rachel McAdams. Loved her in 'The Notebook' and I thought she did great in this movie also.

After reading the book, I can definitely say that the movie is NOTHING like the book. I know they changed it up to make it more entertaining...but they changed it up A LOT! The only thing that is the same between the book and the movie was that there was an accident and she lost her memory of her husband. THAT'S IT! Very disappointing. Even though I love the leading characters of the movie, that I cried and thought it was a great love story...I like the book better!

The book was very inspiring! It is a beautiful love story and an amazing journey of this couple and their trust in God. It's nice to read a story about a couple who against all odds...stayed together when so many people would have understand if they had given up. They made that vow when they got married and they stuck to it. They trusted that the Lord had given them this path for a reason and that they never gave up on each other.

I would definitely recommend this book to anybody to read. It's one of those books that remind you that God works in such mysterious and wonderful ways. It reminds you to count your blessings and to never take your loved ones for granted! It brings back memories of the day you made that vow with your spouse and what it meant. I am so glad I read it.

I really like reading fiction books...so I'm wondering if any of you have some books to recommend that I add to my list?
