Celebration

We had so much fun celebrating our one year anniversary!

Tate went above and beyond...I am so lucky!

First and foremost...he didn't have to work ALL weekend which hasn't happened in about 4 months...so that in itself was a gift :)

He made all the plans for Saturday...

He started by making one of my favorite dinners....walleye and wild rice!

We then headed to Izzy's Ice Cream in St. Paul...one of my favorite ice cream shops!

After dinner and ice cream, he got tickets to a comedy show in Minneapolis. He knows I love to laugh and can't stop laughing @ a comedy show...so that's why he decided to take me there! Laughing is what I did...it was a blast!

After the comedy show...I was ready for bed! I mean, it was past 10 pm...way past my bed time ;)
But Tate said that he had more plans and it involved first going to get hot chocolate. I had no idea...until we pulled up and saw the horse carriage ride!

This is something I would have NEVER expected from him. I kept asking who told him to do this...but he insisted that he thought of it all on his own! I was impressed :)

Our horse was Marble...and he was great!

Sunday we woke up and headed to church like most Sundays. We then headed home and each went to our seperate rooms to watch football. The Packers and Vikings were playing @ the same time and we both HAD to watch our teams...and happily, both our teams WON!!!

We then attempted family pictures! This is something I want to do every year on our Anniversary.

Here is the that turned out of Tate and I!

And our outtakes with May. She was only interested in the tree!

Tate tried to pick her up...she wasn't having it!

Oh well...maybe Mya will cooperate next year!

After football ended...we headed to Ikea to get some more things for our bathroom remodel project and then to dinner. I was SOOO EXCITED for dinner! We were going out for sushi @ one of my fav places in St. Paul!

I don't actually eat real sushi...I have veggie rolls :) I also had teriyaki chicken skewers along with white rice & the special sauce that they always give you when you do teppanyaki. Tate had real sushi and wasabi wings!

After dinner...we headed home and finished our anniversary weekend with tradition. We ate pieces of our wedding cake (which was a bit dry, but Tate devoured it) and watching our wedding video!

I can't believe one year has already gone by! Like I told Tate...

One down...FOREVER to go :)

  2. We didn't have a wedding cake. It wasn't until our one year anniversary that I was a bit bummed about that. No obligatory dry cake eating for us. Your weekend looked fabulous. Carriage ride? Hello romantic!

Sounds like you had a great anniversary.
And you should totally try the actual sushi. I recommend anything with cream cheese. NOM.
