This last weekend was a weekend of change.
It was a weekend where the first change was having to live without Anita!!
Anita is my MIL's sister! The minute I met her, I knew we would get along! She was always laughing and had a constant smile on her face! Nothing negative ever came out of her month. A little over a year ago, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. The cancer had already spread pretty far and chemo was not a guarantee to get rid of it. She tried it...but soon realized that the chemo was worse than the disease. She decided she wanted to live her remaining days in her home...with her family! She decided to give her life to God and take her when it was her time.
It was hard seeing her go through this. She couldn't attend our wedding last year because she was too sick. Her son was able to attend and he had the best time. We loved being able to show her the photos and videos from our very special day.
I will miss her dearly and know that our family get gatherings will not be the same. I look forward to the day I get to reunite with her to laugh!
Anita...you went way too soon. As they say...'Only the good die young'! I love you!

Another change this weekend is with the house! Many things happening and I need to finally update again on all of it! Both bathrooms are almost complete and we have started the kitchen remodel.
My parents came up on Sunday to help rip out the old dishwasher and counters. We hit a few hiccups but were able to get it all ready for the new counters to be installed in a few days. We are currently living counter/sink/dishwasher free in our kitchen. It is weird only having the smallest space to get things ready (the stove).
We plan to use the grill and eat out! We are using paper plates and plastic silverware. Not ideal...but it works! I look forward to Friday when we will the counters installed and running water again in the kitchen!
Now I need to do a post on staring this with all the before pictures! Hopefully I will get to that this week...I should be able to ;)
I've been a horrible blogger...but with all this remodeling and hosting a Halloween party...I am trying to get so much done is so little time! I promise...it will get better ;)
I hope you had a fabulous weekend!
So sorry to hear about Anita! I'm glad she was able to live the rest of her life the way she wanted to.
