This weekend I...
...was a single mom. Tate was gone at a bachelor party and I got to have Turner all to myself. Well...not all to myself because my mom did come help me all weekend. So thankful for her assistance.
...went to Faribault to attend my cousin's graduation party and introduce Turner to my Mom's side of the family. My Aunt's loved holding him and my Grandpa was HILARIOUS. As he was holding Turner, Turner started to fuss a bit (it was his feeding time). My Grandpa blurts out..."will someone throw a tit out here". We all died laughing.
...dealt with the power being out for a good 12+ hours. It was storming Friday night and I was in the middle of feeding Turner and all the sudden, no power. That was lovely. My mom was on her way up and I was really afraid she would get stuck in the storm. We were very fortunate that we didn't have any damage to our house with flooding or trees falling. I've seen pictures throughout the Twin Cities and others were not so lucky and many are still without power. It also was a battle dealing with Mya who is so afraid of storms. She tries to hide her big body in the smallest places...it's hilarious!
...our lil' guy turned 3 weeks old. I can't believe he's been in this world for 3 weeks already. He makes our lives so much better and makes us smile everyday. Last week was a bit rough getting back into our schedule after the weekend, but we are there now and I feel back to normal again.
...and now on this lovely Monday morning, Mya killed a bunny in our yard. I let her out this morning and I didn't see the poor bunny in our yard. Mya caught it and killed it. I had to ask my neighbor to send over her oldest son to bag it for me because I just couldn't do it.
And now we start out a new week full of adventure. It will be a busy week, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not use to this whole being home all day and relaxing, so when there are things scheduled, I love it.
There is NO WAY he can be 3 weeks old already! SO CRAZY! I also can't imagine being a single mom with a newborn, a dog whose scared of storms and no power. YOU'RE AMAZING!! :)

ReplyDeleteOMGOSH. we got caught in the storm friday because i of course just HAD TO GO GET A CARIBOU damnit. and on our way home it was awful. we saw cars floating in the road, had to re-route our way home and dodge a million trees, passed walgreens and target without power all the while thinking if we had no power at home we wouldnt be able to open our garage... and i couldnt stop thinking WHAT IF OUR BABY WAS HERE. holy heck.
