Grout issues

We bought our home two and a half years ago. We bought it on a Monday and by that Friday we adopted our fur baby, Mya. We hadn't even moved in yet. I couldn't wait to get a puppy and Tate couldn't resist as soon as he layed eyes on her. As a puppy, she would stay in her kennel when we left the house. As she got older, I felt bad putting her in the kennel so we decided to put her in the upstairs bathroom and just gated off the door way. We couldn't close the door becuase she would probably scratch a hole in it trying to get out.

As she called the bathroom her 'room', we didn't realize what damage was being done to the grout. I was constantly cleaing the bathroom floor because her hair was everywhere and it always felt dirty. It was really annoying cleaning it so constantly.

2 weeks ago, I was organizing the office and found some pictures from the day we bought our house. I had taken pictures of what it looked like before we did anything. There was a picture of our bedroom which is connected to our upstairs bathroom. The grout was pearly white and I about had a germ-phobia attack (if that even can actually happen). I was appauled to what we let the grout become. I immediately told Tate that his task that week was to clean it!

Gross...dirty grout tile floor!

I went out and bought some grout cleaner during the week so Tate could get it done ASAP. I bought what I thought looked like some good stuff to use. It cleaned it...but it was not as pearly white as when we first bought the house.

As you can see, it's definitely better than it was before, but still looks dingy and there are some spots that look worse than others. Tate went to work and talked with a co-worker who is the lead of the cleaning staff and he recommended a certain cleaner and even gave a bottle to Tate to bring home and use.

'all natural'...love those types of cleaners

So happy that Tate's co-worker gave him this cleaner. I am not even sure where you can buy this stuff...but I will find out soon so that we can buy it when we run out. It worked so well and our grout is back to pearly white!!! Happy camper here :)

wwwooohooooo

We have now moved Mya's 'room' to our fourth bedroom in the house. It's the lowest level in the house. It sits empty with furiture we don't use or that I am in the process of 'updating'. It's nice having her down there because it's not a space I frequent so I don't have a anxiety attack how dirty it gets. We find ourselves cleaning it once or twice a week becuase she sheds so bad. It's also nice getting out of the shower and being able to walk on our tile floor without our feet getting dirty! I seriously don't know why we didn't do this sooner!!!!
