30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 21

* A picture of something that makes you happy

Morning of my wedding as we get all pretty!!!

Lil' Miss Rylee Jane makes me very happy!!! She is so precious and growing up so fast. I am a very proud Godmother and so blessed to have her as a part of my life!!!!

Read, Read & Read

In September, Tate and I took a mini trip to North Carolina for a friends wedding. Before we left on this trip, I had decided to buy a book to read on the plane instead of wasting money on a tabloid magazine that fills my brain with trash.

That week before we left, I made a trip to Target to find a book. I went straight for the bestsellers shelf and decided on the first one I saw. It was a book I heard about it and everyone was raving about it. It might also be that it stuck out since it was a bright color.

This was a really good book. I read half of it on the plane on the way there and finished it on our way back. That is the fastest I have ever read a book. The book is incredible and even had me crying at some points. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Now I am not a regular book reader. I actually hating reading in school. I just didn't enjoy it. If I had to read, I would try to find a way to not have to by asking others what it was about. I've decided to become a reader. I want to sit down and enjoy a good book. It's just hard for me to pick a book to enjoy. I really like non-fiction books. I like real life stories because those keep me very interested knowing that what I am ready are actual events.

Next on my book list...
I DVR her show everyday. Of course she is always 'plugging' her book and I am excited to read it. I am sure I will laugh throughout the whole thing. I love Ellen.

Some other books I plan to read...

I have heard this book is really good. I am excited to read this one because I love watching her show also. After I read this one, I plan to add her second book to my reading list.

Since the movie came out and I have heard great things about it, I decided I wanted to see the movie but decided I should read the book first.

What books would you recommend that I read and add to my list?

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 20

* Someone you see yourself marrying/being with in the future

Well this one is super easy since it just happened 39 days ago!!!

On October 21, 2011 I married my best friend and the love of my life! Words can't even describe how lucky I feel that he is all mine forever and ever!!!!

I do plan to post many wedding photos once we get them. I will recap the whole day with photos. I hope to get them back within the next 2 weeks!!!

MN Wedding Vendor Reviews

Through the whole wedding planning process, I used a very helpful website to find my vendors and used other brides reviews to choose which one I would like to work with. Since I found that so helpful, I thought I would do the same for new brides. Here are my FABULOUS vendors and review on each of them.
I will link all the vendors with their websites. If there is no website...email me for their contact information.

Ceremony Location: Nazareth Chapel on Northwestern College Campus - Grade: A+
- This chapel is GORGEOUS. I found it through a co-worker whose son got married at the chapel last year. The chapel event coordinators were so helpful and great at answering questions. They were so helpful during the planning process and even better during the rehearsal and the day of. Everything ran so smoothly and everyone commented on how great it was.

Reception: Oak Marsh Golf Course - Grade: A+
- This was the easiest vendor to pick because I have worked at the golf course for the past 3 seasons. Even though I worked there...they still treated me like I was just a bride and were really on top of things. The food was AMAZING and the decorations were FABULOUS!! We received so many compliments on how the staff was great, the food tasted so good and how elegant everything looked. I don't have any pictures back yet of our reception...but their website has many to look at.

Photographer: Kimberly Williams Photography - Grade: A+
- We haven't received our 'final' photos but I am not worried at all about them. Our engagement photos were really good and what I have seen so far of our wedding photos, I really like. She is so down to earth and fun to work with. I can not say enough great things about Kim and highly highly highly recommend her. Here is a link to a preview she posted of our engagement photos. Here is one of our wedding photos that I recently received. I am so excited to get the rest of them :)

Videographer: Highlights Videography - Grade: A+ (pending video)
- Brady is very professional and fun to work with. I've seen some of his work and I think he does a great job. I like that he gives me all raw footage plus a 'highlight' video of the day. I am beyond excited to get this video.

Ceremony Musician: Angela Bobick - Grade: A+
- Angela was one of my first vendors I booked. I for sure wanted a ceremony musician that could sing and play the piano and guitar. Well Angela fit all those...and she sounded amazing!!

DJ: Midwest Sound - Grade A
- We had Mike as our DJ. He listened to everything that we wanted and did everything we had asked of him. He was always on point and listened to our music selection. He always kept the music going. I would def recommend Midwest Sound for your event.

Day of Coordinator: Bumblebee Personal Assistants - Grade: A+++++++
- Words can't even describe on happy I was that I made room in my budget for Mary. She went above and beyond of what I wanted. I could not have asked for anybody better to run the show at my reception. She was on point, did everything the way I wanted, was very professional and kept everybody on time with my schedule. She even went to the hotel to get a new dress for our best man's girlfriend because he had accidentally spilt a whole glass of red wine all over her. I didn't find this out until the next day and I was speechless. She didn't have to do this for them...but she did. I am honored to know such a great business woman and I feel blessed that she was a part of our special day.

Transportation: Minnesota Coaches - Grade: A+
- We used MN Coaches for bridal party transportation to photos and for them after the ceremony to the reception. Cheryl was great to work with for organizing everything. Always responded to my emails in a very timely manner. There prices were great also. Our bus driver was so fun and did everything we had asked.

Flowers: Simply Stated Elegance - Grade: B+
- Our flower were gorgeous. Everything that I wanted. The reason she doesn't get an A is because Jeni is just not the greatest at communication. It sometimes took me 3 emails to her to get a response. Her work was amazing though. We did have a little bit of a hiccup the day of the wedding because her dad had a stroke...but she scheduled to have the flowers dropped off by her husband. I am glad everything was still so beautiful even though she was going through a touch time. Her prices are also amazing!!!!

Cake: Queen of Cakes - Grade: A+
- We decided to have cupcakes, cake balls and bars for our wedding reception. They were all a hit. I enjoyed working with QOC. It also was nice that I got a discount since my DOC was Mary...BONUS!!!

Hair: Shears to You salon - Grade: A+
- I originally had hired S&C for my hair and makeup services but canceled on them when I continuously had problems. Shear to You is where I get my hair done. It is a very small shop in Stillwater. I hired them to come to my house to do hair and I am so pleased that I did. Alysia did my hair and it was so awesome. Everyone kept asking if I had extensions or hair pieces because she made it look like I had so much hair (I have super thin hair). She did amazing and the other 2 girls did a great job on the BM as well.

Makeup: Makeup by Leah T - Grade: A+++
- 2 words...beautiful & flawless! She's been doing makeup for years for friends weddings, night out, etc and  just started her own business of doing makeup on the side as something fun to do that she enjoys. I am so happy I hired her. She made myself and my BM looks just fabulous. She did everything that I had wanted. She is very professional and fun to have around. I would definitely recommend Leah to anybody and everybody needing makeup services done.

Alterations: Louise Kegley - Grade: A-
- I loved everything about Louise and it kills me not to give her an A+. Everything about my dress was perfect. She converted it from a size 10 to about a 4, put in the sweetheart cut, put in cups, bustle, etc...all for a very reasonable price...but my bustle fell out within 30 min at the reception. The threads she used busted and could not be 're-tied'. I made do by holding my train the rest of the night...but it was def annoying. I still would definitely recommend her work...she is great and makes you feel awesome!!!

Bridesmaid Dresses: The Wedding Shoppe - Grade: A-
- Great prices, great selection...easy decision. I had a good idea of what I wanted. Took all my ladies in to try it on...they all loved it. They got measured and paid for them. Had them shipped to my house...worked really well. Only complaint from all the ladies was they were too big...everyone had to get major alterations.

My Dress: 299 Sale - Grade: A
- Happens once a year. I went with my mom, sister and a friend. My friend found her dress the year before. I got tickets to go the night before off the radio so I could get first dibs. So glad I did. Found my dress...got a great deal...overall, great experience.

If I missed a vendor...I'll come back and add them in. Otherwise I hope you all found this helpful. Email me or leave a comment with any questions. Thanks.

XOXO,

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 19

* Nicknames you have; why do you have them

In grade school, I was nicknamed BB gun since my initials were BB.

In high school I was nicknamed  Buisch because I accidentally called Busch beer, Buisch once.

In college I was nicknamed Birdsh*t and Bird. Birdsh*t is not very nice...but only a select few guys would call me that and everyone else calls me bird now. I was nicknamed birdsh*t because if you say my first name really fast, it sounds like birdsh*t.

Today...People either call me Bridge, Bird or B. I don't mind any of these nicknames.

Do you have any fun nicknames?

Homemade Sushi

A few weeks ago, Tate and I decided to have to try to make sushi at home.

We were craving it from enjoying it on our honeymoon. While on our honeymoon, I tried it for the first time and loved it. I only ate veggie sushi...but at home, we decided to make sushi with veggies, smoked salmon & crab. I didn't eat any of the crab ones because I am not a fan...but the veggie and salmon ones were great.

Ingredients:
Smoked Salmon
Imitation Crab
Cucumber
Avocado
Cream cheese
Fresh squeezed lemon juice
Short or medium grain rice (Not long grain...won't get sticky)
Dried seaweed
Soy sauce
Wasabi
Rice vinegar
Sugar
Salt

We followed this website for making the sushi and cooking the rice --> Homemade Sushi

Our fresh ingredients all ready to go

All ready to go to start making our sushi rolls

Added the rice. The saran wrap is used to keep the sushi roll board from getting dirty.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 18

* Plans/dreams/goals you have
Well this topic is very vague. Are we talking about in years, months or days. Well I guess they want me to post whichever way they want me to...so here it is.

My plans today are to watch football. It's Sunday, it's still fall and football is still on. Of course I would be watching football. We will also be driving back home from a great weekend with Tate's family.

My dreams are to have a BIG family some day. Ok...not that big! I would feel very blessed with 4 children...but Tate say, "Let's see how you feel after one". I think that is a fair statement. In all honesty though, I can see our family be blessed with 3 children. I have dreams they will be healthy, happy and beautiful.

My goals are to do all my goals I posted a few days ago. I had to post goals (Challenge Day 8) for the next month...well this post about my goal is to finish those goals :) haha...I had to put that because I am not getting too far on those goals :)

What are your plans, dreams or goals?!!? Answer whichever way you want!!!!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 17

* Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

This may seem really weird or not the response you all would think I would have...but I think if I could switch lives with someone for one day, I would switch lives with someone from the armed forces fighting for our country overseas.

The reason I picked someone from the armed forces who is currently fighting overseas is because it is something that is selfless, responsible and heroic. I think it would open my eyes to actually see what they do over there day in and day out. I already have so much respect for members of our armed forces, but I think if I actually saw what they go through...it would put my respect on a whole new level.

I always pray for members of our military and their families. I can't imagine what they all go through on a regular basis, but I know that I can pray to God to watch over them to keep them safe and to give their families the strength to stay strong.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 16 & Black Friday

* Another picture of yourself

I feel like there are so many pictures on my blog of just myself...especially from our honeymoon posts. But I will do as the challenge says!

This picture is from our honeymoon. We were on our way to eat dinner @ the Mexican Restaurant. We loved these 'walls' that was a waterfall.

I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving. We certainly did. We went to my Grandparents home to spend time with my side of the family. We are heading to Tate's side today for the rest of the weekend.

Is anybody shopping today? I did all my black Friday shopping online yesterday. Some stores have there black Friday deals online on Thanksgiving day. It's great. I bought everything I wanted from the black Friday ads online yesterday and it will be delivered to my door...free. So excited about that.

Happy shopping for any of you going out in the madness :)

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 15

* Put your iPod on shuffle: First 10 songs that play

I have not updated the songs on my iPod in a while so please...no judging on the dated material :)

Can you tell I like a wide variety of music. I have over 300 songs on my iPod and I usually only listen to it while running. Now with different applications for radio stations or Pandora...I don't listen to  my iPod as much as I use to.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all have a blessed day with family and friends.

XOXO,

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 13

* A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

Dear Internet/TV company,

I'm really upset on how you try to screw your customers over. I was on the phone with you for over 3 hours and my problem was still not fixed. I am sick of it and can't imagine staying with you after my contract is up. You had me in tears because I was so frustrated with you. Why is it the problem never can be resolved within 15 minutes...heck even 30 minutes. Everyone knows if they call you, they can guarantee they will be on the phone for an hour and that is an hour that we will never get back. Get your sh*t together and stop over charging me.

Thanks,
Not a loyal customer and will get rid of you the first chance I get

(vent over and I definitely feel better)

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 12

* How you found out about Blogger and why you made one

I found out about blogger through a good college friend Ashley...go check out her adorable family blog here, Phipps Family

I decided to make a blog because I loved the whole concept of an online journal. I loved looking at other blogs and being able to look back 1 year and see what you did that month in a story and picture that you posted. It was also a way for me to document different projects I did for the wedding. I am so glad I started this and hope to keep it going for a while :)

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 11

* Another picture of you and your friends
I wish I had a picture of ALL my friends to make this easier to choose a picture. I decided on this picture. It is a few of my girlfriends and I at my rehearsal dinner.

And speaking of friends...I met my first blog friend today. I won a giveaway on Love Is... blog and we met up today for lunch to meet and for her to give me what I won. It was super fun and I am so glad we found the time to meet up. I won a super cute bracelet and nail polish that I can't wait to us. Thanks Andrea!!! I hope we get to meet up again very soon!!!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 10

* Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad

There is so many songs that I love...it's hard to decide. I will put down a few songs for these emotions.

Happy
- The Good Life by One Republic (It's my ring tone so it better make me happy.)
- This City by Patrick Stump (Makes me smile and gets me smiling)

Sad
- Stand by Rascal Flatts (Great song that lifts you up.)
- Sold by John Michael Montgomery (This song reminds of my cousin who passed away when we were 14. She taught me the lyrics to this song and I have never forgot them.)

Bored
- Single Ladies by Beyonce (Let's just say I am not bored anymore if this song comes on.)
- Wild at Heart by Gloriana (Whenever it's just Mya and I home...I put this song on when I am bored and we start dancing.)

Hyped
- Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex (haha...I am the life of the dance floor if this song comes one.)
- Dougie by Cali Swag (Everyone was the life of the dance floor when this song was played twice @ our wedding reception...it's the latest and greatest dance number.)

Mad
- In the End by Linkin Park (It's a hard song but also makes you think...is it really worth to be mad.)

I only did one for mad because it's very rare that I am mad...and I can't think of any other songs I really listen to when I am mad or that make me mad.

Hope you all are having a great weekend :)

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 9

* Something you’re proud of in the past few days

Tate and I have decided to finally plan out our meals everyday for a month. We made a list of everything we like to cook. We then filled in a calendar of what to eat on which day. I then hit up the grocery store to buy everything. This last week was our first week of doing it and man do I love it.

I never have to think...what's should I make for dinner?!? It's already decided and everything is already bought. I am so happy :)  Tate even commented on how much he loves this. He usually comes home after dinner time so when he calls to ask...I get to tell him instead of saying, 'I don't know...what do you want'. He hated that because he never knew what we even had.

This is all part of organization and I can't wait for everything in our life to be organized...it definitely makes life a bit easier :)

I would recommend doing this..it seriously is a time saver!!!

Honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas - Day 7

Day 7 was our last day in Cabo. It went by so fast. We decided that on our last day we were going to hang out by the pool and relax all day. Relaxing we did. We were by the pool by 9 am and didn't leave until 5.

Tate had been asking all week if we could go jet skiing. I didn't want to for 2 reasons...it was really expensive for a limited amount of fun and I was so scared to jet ski in the ocean. Well...on our last day, I finally said I would go with him jet skiing. He probably wishes I didn't go because I was pretty much screaming the whole time and I can't imagine it was much fun for him.

Here a few pictures of our view of lovers beach and the arch from the jet ski

Our resort from the water

After a really fun day in the sun...we decided to have 2 dinners on our last night :) We had reservation at the super fancy restaurant but not until 9:15. So we went and ate @ the buffet around 6:30 and I am so happy we did. It was 'Asian' theme night so they had sushi, sushi and more sushi. Loved it!!!

We had the best honeymoon ever. I am so glad we picked Cabo for our location and I am glad we stayed @ the Riu Palace. I can't wait to go again!!!

XOXO
