This Weekend I...

Was so productive...even if it did involve me repeating something 3 times (more on that later)!

Tate was out of town coaching wrestling at a tournament so I was solo on the social scene and solo on the 'get shit done' scene!!!!

On Friday I went out to eat @ Crave for a friends birthday and then hit up Toby Keith's bar to celebrate. I only stayed until 10 pm...but I loved seeing all my girls and hanging with Molly again who was home for Christmas from CA.

Some of the SCSU girls - Elissa & I...she just announced on Christmas that her and her husband are expecting also...very exciting!!!

On Saturday I woke up with major plans to get stuff done. I had a bunch of errands to do so I left the house at 9 to hit up the gym, then ran my errands right after and was home by noon! I'm one of those people that doesn't 'take my time' when it comes to shopping, I usually know what I need or have to look @ and am out of there!

I made myself lunch (mac & cheese) and then got to work on painting the nursery. I hate how long it takes to prep for painting...but it took about 1.5 hours to remove outlet covers and tape off the trim. Here is what the painted walls looked like before as our guest bedroom...

We decided to paint the nursery a light gray color since gray will be incorporated in the color scheme for a boy or girl. We really liked the gray color we painted the upstairs bathroom when we remodeled so we just decided to used that color.

When I was 95% finished painting, I realized I used the WRONG gray paint color...I used the one that we used on the downstairs bathroom remodel and the room looked blue...not gray! I was not happy of course...but instead of getting mad, I just decided that I 'primed' the walls. It had taken me 2.5 hours to paint the wrong primer on. I was hoping to get the 2 coats of the right color on that night and be done with it...but clearly my brain had other plans and I painted the correct color for the next 2.5 hours and was done and in bed by 10:15.

I woke up at 6:15 ready to paint...well I did decide to eat first and was painting by 7 and then ran out of paint.  I decided to get ready for church and run to the store before to pick up a quart of paint to finish the job.

Since I had already spent 7 hours painting, when I got home I decided to clean the fridge because that was on my to-do list also. It's the best feeling have a clean and organized fridge...I just love it!!!

After that, I finished painting the nursery during commercials of the VIKINGS WIN!!!

Here is are the nice pretty walls of Baby W's nursery...
I love it!!! I can't wait until it's decorated and then occupied with our little one!!!

After that, I made these enchilada's for dinner! As they were cooking, I decided to prep the dresser to be primed that is going to go into the nursery. Tate needs to prime it because our primer is oil based and that is a big no-no for pregnant woman so he gets to do that in one.

This is the dresser. My dad made a dresser for all of us kids when we were little and this was mine growing up (well I actually think this is my sister's because of the 'flaw' on the top drawer...but since I will painting it anyway, I won't complain).

The bottom three draws are pretty deep and are good for storage in the early years as I don't think we will fill everything up with clothes as we have a good size closet too. I am excited to share what I do with this dresser once I finish it!!!

That puts me here right now...typing this post, dishing soaking in the sink for me to wash and Tate and I about to double team the bed sheets so we can sleep in nice fresh sheets tonight!

It's these weekends I love...where I am home to get stuff done. I hung out with friend and was very productive. I did miss my husband, but he is here now, sitting next to me watching football and relaxing!

I hope you all had a GREAT last weekend of 2012!!! Bring on the New Year...I am ready!!!

Week 17

Baby W this week…
-rubbery cartilage is now turning into bone
-growing meat on those bones...putting some fat
-growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too

Size of the baby?
Baby is the size of an onion

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
As I have said before...we don't own a scale so I only know what I have gained when I visit the doctor. I may be getting a scale soon, but until then...I was up 5 pounds at 16 weeks.

Maternity Clothes?
None yet but my work pants and jeans don't button anymore. I bought the belly band which has worked great. I also enjoy wearing leggings with dresses.

Stretch Marks?
None

Best Moments?
Watching my belly grow and getting some great stuff for Christmas for baby!!!

Movement?
Still none...I keep hoping I will feel something soon!

Food Cravings?
This past few weeks I have been wanting to drink a pop....which is rare since I don't drink it. I drank it growing up but as an adult I actually have grown to kind of dislike it and now I have been craving some.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
No but I really don't ever feel like our regular meals that I make, especially if they have meat (ground turkey or chicken) in them.

What I miss?
Not having to itch my skin all the time. My skin is currently in the 'stretching' phase so it's itching like crazy and this super dry weather doesn't help.

Nausea/Vomiting?
None

Symptoms?
Boobs have officially gotten 'much' bigger because the bras are getting too small. I knew they got bigger right away...but when you are as small chested as I am, I think my bras just started to fit 'normal' as my boobs filled them out. Almost time to go bra shopping.

Labor Signs?
Way too early for this talk

Gender?
Coming soon

Belly Button In or Out?
Still in...but getting more shallow

Wedding Rings On or Off?
Still on

Sleep?
Considering I just got a 'pregnancy pillow' for Christmas and used it only once, I think the whole sleeping on my side will get better.

What I am looking forward to?
Getting the nursery started. We moved all the guest bedroom furniture down to our 4th bedroom when we got back yesterday and I can now prep the room to be painted.

Griswold Christmas Party

Our friends decided to do a 'movie theme' holiday party this year and of course I was excited! Any excuse to dress up like it's Halloween, I am all for :)

Movie this year was 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation'.

First they sent out the invite via Facebook and everyone that said they could make it was assigned a character to dress up as. I was assigned Audrey Griswold.
(Tate was not able to attend because he was out of town coaching at a wrestling tournament)

Name tags ready to go!

Audrey & Rusty - Aunt Bethany & Uncle Lewis - Clark & Ellen #1 - Eddie & Catherine #1

Frank the boss & his wife Helen - Eddie & Catherine #2 - Ellen & Clark #2 - Margo & Todd Chester

Clark Sr & Nora Griswold - Rocky & Ruby Sue - Mary - Snot the dog

It was a night filled with beer pong, shot ski and jello shots (enjoyed by all except myself).

Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Linking up with Ashley over @ Adventures of Newlyweds for Friday's Letters!!

Dear December, you are crazy busy and I seems a bit hard to keep up. Traveling for fun & work to holiday parties to getting together with family and celebrating Christmas, it is overwhelming and I am so glad to have my energy back for this...if it was the first trimester, I would defiantly be sleeping vs socializing! Dear Southwest Airlines, YOU ARE THE BEST AIRLINE! You made everyone laugh and take a delayed flight (due to weather) into something we could smile about. I was so impressed! THANK YOU!!! Dear American Airlines, YOU SUCK & I will never fly you again!! That's all!!! Dear baby twins, No storm can keep me from meeting you FINALLY this Sunday! I can't wait...pictures are not doing it for me anymore. I need to hold you beautiful babies! Dear weekend, YOUR HERE and I love it!

Here are interesting stories from weeks 5-11

Week 5

Tate coaches football and had a game on 10/5 that I attended and his dad came to town also to watch. The team lost, so Tate didn't want to go to any local establishments for food and drinks so we decided to hit up the Applebees on our way home for 1/2 price appetizers. I get there first...on purpose so I can order and a virgin bloody mary but his dad would think I am actually drinking, tricky...I know ;) The waitress comes by and I tell her I would like a virgin bloody mary and she told me they don't serve virgins anymore. WHAT?!!? She informed me that a child ordered a virgin but accidentally got one with booze in it so they no longer do virgins. To me...that is ridiculous that you stop serving virgins...more like fire that dumba$$ bartender and give me a virgin bloody. I ordered a water and waited until my FIL and Tate arrived. Then I saw a manger walk by and asked him about it...he said they will serve one to me if I am over 21. I said yes, but they need to make sure it's virgin and that no one @ my table can know it's a virgin. He picked up what I was laying down ;) and eventually the waitress came back and I also informed her that no one can know it's virgin. She understood and I FINALLY received by virgin bloody mary have what seemed like a ridiculous amount of time. I wasn't planning on talking to a manager or anything because I didn't want to make a big deal, but when he walked past...I just had to.

The picture I posted of my bloody...I do this so people think that I am enjoying an adult beverage and won't ask if I am pregnant (many friends know it's around the time we wanted to start trying). Little does everyone know...it's alcohol free ;)

I also decided to set a goal for myself during my pregnancy (like a fellow blogger did). I want to still workout while pregnant and plan to do so at a pace that won't harm our unborn child. I've been swimming, walking, elliptical and minimal running. I decided to set a goal of myself to do 10 miles a week of either walking, running or elliptical. Since I found out @ 5 weeks...that means we have 35 weeks to do this. The goal for the whole pregnancy is to do 350 total miles. It's pretty easy right now...but could get a bit more difficult with a big belly out there! It's good to have a goal though so here goes...

Week 8

I am sitting at work talking with one of my co-workers and I suddenly get a massive craving for a dill pickle with mustard sandwich. OMG...it was like I wanted it right now and it was so hard to not say anything to my co-worker. I thought about it...then thought that sounded so 'pregnant' like and knew that he would know if I said anything. So I had to resort to texting Tate my sudden craving and go on without actually having my craving because I wasn't about to run to the store and buy all that while at work.

We hosted a Halloween Party on 10/27 and I had been planning since the day we found out on how I am going to get away with not drinking. Well...I came up with a few ideas and they worked. Earlier in the week, I purchased 16oz 'silos' Miller Lite for Tate and a 6 pack of O'douls for myself. I had Tate drink 2 of the Miller Lite's during the week so I could have 2 cans to pour the O'douls in. I did the switch-a-roo on Saturday afternoon and tossed the O'douls bottles in a plastic bag in the recycling bin. I also hid the remaining bottles of O'douls so know one could find them. I started the night off with a Bloody Mary...made before anybody arrived so that was easy. Then I purposely in front of people poured my 'Miller Lite' into a glass and added my loads of limes (I love lime in my beer). So everyone thought I was drinking real beer. I even played a game of beer pong with my O'douls. We just made sure my beer was on one side because 'I could not drink beer that was no flavored with my lime' was my excuse :) Some people did shots...which I obviously rejected. They also had bagged wine being passed around...I would just nonchalantly go into the house and have to use the bathroom to avoid that situation. Everything I did worked and nobody suspected anything!

I plan to do a weekly pregnancy update along with a belly picture! I am so excited to document this incredible experience!
