Bathroom #2 = finished

I am so happy to announce that we have finished remodeling bathroom #2. This was the first project we started way back when...I don't like to think of when!

 

I'm so excited to reveal the finished product to you all!!!

 

Where we started...

 

We peeled off wallpaper and painted the walls. We replaced ALL the gold. We installed new counters and made many trips to our home improvement stores.

 

All our hard labor has paid off...all the money spent was totally ok!!

We are still working on bathroom #1 and the kitchen! Glad it's getting cold out because then I don't feel bad staying in and painting :)

It's getting so close to being done that I can taste it and that excites the heck out of me :)

We have finished staining the vanity and linen closet.

I have painted the bathroom.

We have had the new granite counters installed.

We hired a plumber to come over and hook the sinks back up.

This bathroom is 85% complete! Hopefully I will get the mirror this weekend. The painting of the trim and new doors are not high on the priority list (can be a winter project), but the first two to-do items will hopefully be done soon!

Start of remodel project

 

Bathroom #1 update

Things are moving forward very nicely for our remodel projects! This weekend was full of demolition and getting things done. I am so excited for the new counters to be installed on Thursday!!!!

And here is where we currently are:

 

Removed the ugly mirror and removed the back splash before my dad arrived!

Counter and sinks removed! Also...my beautiful stained vanity is full of saw dust and I was freaking out that it was going to get ruined during demolition. Lucky...only a couple scratches and I fixed them up right away :)

The drawers and doors all done being stained. Just waiting a few more days before I put on the top protective coat!!!

Installed new trim that I will paint white (they were bought already primed). At some point we will be painting the trim around the doors white and replacing the hallow doors with nice 6 panel white doors!

Bathroom #2 update

Bathroom #2 is ALMOST finished. Next update post on this bathroom will be the finished product!

Found that light @ Fleet Farm on clearance since it was the display model...a nice $30 savings :)

We bought the rug to go around the toilet from Bed, Bath & Beyond with a $5 off coupon...the other rug we had received for a wedding present.

 

Menards was having a sale for pretty much everything we needed to replace in this bathroom so it was time to buy it. We had been waiting for it to go one sale. Saved a total of $60.79 (dont' you just love when they put on the receipt how much you save?!?! I DO!!!)

Out with the old...in with the NEW

I love all the new projects going on in our house...I feel like we are getting a whole new house!

We have recently updated a few things in our upstairs living room.

This papasen chair I bought when I lived alone right after college. Very dated and needed to go! Sold on Craigslist!

We updated this area with this nice recliner chair!

We also sold this entertainment stand on Craigslist on Monday! This was also bought when I lived alone right after college also.

I've wanted to get rid of this stand from the day we moved in. I FINALLY found something I could re-do and put there...

Bought this off Craigslist for $40.

I transformed it into this...

I painted it black and distressed it only in a few places...I didn't want to over due this piece.

 

I took out the top drawer and made a shelf. We also had to drill a hole in the back for the cords to be able to go through.

The drawers are filled with DVD's and VHS tapes...yes we still have VHS tapes. We actually still have a VHS player...but have not used it since living in this house. What does one do with all their old VHS tapes?!?!

We are loving the updated look! Now we need to find things to hang on the wall. I'll be revisiting my pinterest boards for ideas!
