A bachelorette party weekend

Not only did I celebrate a friend as a bachelorette for only a few more weeks..I watched the finale of the bachelorette last night!

First up...my real life bachelorette party I had this weekend!

We started the day out @ the St. Croix Vineyards

Super yummy wine

Cute shower gift from one of her Matron of Honor! So cute...she said it was a pinterest find, def going to look for that one!

After a nice afternoon at the winery, we changed and freshened up for night of fun!

The bachelorette opened gifts, ate some snacks and enjoyed some beverages!

She got 'iced' by her soon to be sister-in-law

St. Cloud State girls

The bachelorette and I

All the ladies

After having fun @ the hotel, we had dinner @ Luna Rosa.

Some nice music

After dinner, we hit up the night life!

The bride was a dancing machine!

It was fun night! I had only limited myself to a few drinks since I was going to be driving home afterwards...but I still had a good time. Lots of people watching involved :)

Now I look forward to celebrating Brittney and Brady's love in 2 weeks @ their wedding!

And last nights Bachelorette finale...SUPER EXCITED that she choose Jef (with one f)!

I always give these couples the benefit of the doubt...and I hope I hope I hope that they work out! I love seeing Trista & Ryan together...and Ashely & JP. I look forward to what comes of them!

The Bachelorette

I loved this weeks episode. Certain guys start to stand out more that I like and the ones that I thought I liked...I no longer like.

First one-on-one date was with Chris.

I thought they had a great date! I loved the Luke Bryant concert! I really like Chris, but I honestly don't think he is the 'one'. I think he will go far, but will not be in the top 3.

Her group date this week involved the guys meeting her best friends and getting 'drilled' by them. I thought they asked very tough questions. She also put them all to the test when it came to children. Dozens of kids came to the park so Emily could see how the guys interacted with them. One person that stood out to me that I didn't even think about in previous episodes was Sean. He is a sweetheart and I think he a very genuine guy. I think Sean could be in the top 3.

Her last one-on-one date of this week was with Arie. I spoke about Arie in the first week. This episode we were able to get to know him better and find out if he would be a good fit for Emily. I could tell Emily really likes him and she even mentioned that he was a lot like her daughters father. I still think Arie goes far, in fact...I think he will be in the top 2. My gut tells me since he does remind her of her late ex, that he won't be the one she picks.

The cocktail was another interesting one. Emily sent Alessandro home right away because he looked at Emily's daughter as a 'compromise' instead of a blessing. By watching this show, you can tell that Emily is a very protective mama bear. Sending him home was the right thing...she knows what she wants and if she doesn't see it with you...then there is no reason to waste her time or the guys.

After watching this week...I have my top 3 picks for this show. I think it will be Arie, Doug and Sean. I had recently thought Ryan would be up there...but after this weeks episode, I don't think so and I don't seem as a good fit for Emily. Doug is my favorite right now. He received the first impression rose on night one...but hasn't had a one-on-one date yet.

My opinion could change as the weeks go by...but at this point, the front runners start to stand out and the others just seem like 'fillers' to keep the show going. Looking forward to next week already.

Dog Ticks and The Bachelorette

It's a good thing I DVR this show because I had started watching late. I was out on a run with Mya and noticed a patch of fur that looked funny on her. I bent down and looked and saw a tick starting to burrow into her skin. I freaked out of course and headed straight home. I was so tempted to stop at so many of my neighbors to ask them to get it off her since Tate was till at work.

I didn't end up stopping @ any neighbors but I did call Tate immediately. I started getting extreme anxiety thinking that this tick was going to kill my lil' baby! Tate said he was on his way home and was only about 15 minutes away. I then researched online what exactly we should to remove it.

I got out the tweezers, rubbing alcohol and triple antibiotic ointment. We also filled Mya's kong full of peanut to keep her busy while we removed the tick. Tate removed the tick...head and all with the tweezers and then put it in some rubbing alcohol. We then applied triple antibiotic ointment to the huge massive bump that was left behind. After leaving the tick in alochol for awhile, we then burned it to make sure it actually died.

Of course I freaked at first thinking my baby girl was going to die. Good thing...right now, she's ok. Hoping that the area doesn't get infected.

Now onto the real reason of this post...my thoughts on The Bachelorette!

Ryan got the first one on one date and I was so excited! I really like Ryan. I have this feeling that he will be in the final 3, but will not come away with Emily's heart.

There date consisted of doing Emily's everyday things. Helping with groceries and making snacks for her daughters soccer team. It was super cute. He of course was originally thinking they were going to go on some extravagant date. I was happy that Emily's first date was something elaborate because that is not what everyday life is going to be like with her. I think she is truly trying to find the 'right one' and doing it the right way.

Her next date was a group date and it had to do with raising money for one of Emily's favorite charities and The Muppets. The guys had to perform different skits. My heart went out for Charlie.

Charlie was in an accident and suffers still to this day from it. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and one thing that it affected was his speech. He was nervous about performing and is very insecure about it. He stepped aside and spoke to Emily about this and she was very understanding.

The last one on one date was with Joe.

Emily said she was really excited for this date. She said she thought he looked like Matthew McConaughey...which I thought was crazy. Then I saw him again on the screen and looked up a pic of Matthew...and she was right, they do look somewhat alike. Joe is like a 'smaller and shorter' version of Matthew.

They had a fancy date in West Virgina. I thought the whole date was awkward and that Emily wasn't 'feeling' it. She wasn't. She ended up sending him home during the date. I felt bad for her because he had no idea. She felt bad 'breaking up' with him.

Then it was time for cocktail hour. As always, it gets awkward when everyone tries to get one on one time with her. Some of them try way to hard and some don't try at all (or at least they don't show them trying).

In the end, she picked 16 guys to stay. The villan stayed to cause more drama for the show and everyone whom I like or think are frontrunners, are still there. The guys that went home, I wasn't surprised.

Now we have to wait another week to see what else happens on The Bachelorette and I need to go get tick repelent for Mya!!!

The Bachelorette

I am so excited for this seasons 'The Bachelorette'. This season's bachelorette is Emily Maynard.

I watched Emily when she was on Brad's season of The Bachelor and fell in love with her. She is a true 'southern belle'. Beautiful, elegant and down to earth. She's gone through a lot in her life (lost her finance in a plane crash and found out 2 days later she was pregnant with his child), something I can't even imagine going through. She's been engaged twice...and here she is taking a huge risk and hoping 3rd time is the charm. I hope it is because someone like her deserves it.

When she was on The Bachelor, she was this super sweet girl who seemed...in her own words...boring. I've seen in the previews that we will get to see a very fun side of her and even hear a bleep out of the f-bomb. I am excited to see this side of her.

The first episode was all about meeting the guys.

And meet guys she did...all 25 of them! The show had 4 or 5 guys that they did a bit of a background on them and had video of them doing there every day lives. I am not sure why they only picked those guys. I feel like they did it because those guys will go far in the season and now we know that by seeing that. I dont' know though...so we will see.

A few guys stood out right away to me.

Ryan is someone that I think Emily really likes. He use to be a professional football player and now runs a sports training facility for athletes.

Arie is someone that I think goes very far. He is a race car driver and was very nervous meeting Emily and telling her this since her fiance that had passed was in the same profession. I was happy he told her the first night so that if she wasn't comfortable with it, he would have gone home right away. She was very cool with it and excited.

Doug received the 'first impression rose'. He's a single father of an 11 year old boy and lives in Seattle. Emily is looking for someone that is ready to be a family and having him already have that...it really made a great impression on Emily.

This is Kalon...and he comes from lots of money. He made his entrance on a helicopter. You can already tell he will be the 'villan'. I already don't like him from what I have seen so far. They need one on every season and we will see how this plays out...but I already hope she doesn't choose him. Who knows...my mind may change after I see more episodes.

A few others that I feel like will do well that received roses on the first night:

Charlie - only one to wear a cream suite. I liked him.

Jeff - cool and down to earth. Showed up on his skateboard. I don't
think he will win but I think he is a fun guy that will be well liked.

Nate - she thought he was super cute and he's an accountant...
so of course, I like him. I think he will stay as long as Jeff.

Chris - Emily finds him very attractive (I didn't) and he had bobble head
dolls made of himself and Emily. I think he will go pretty far.

I'm excited for this season and will be doing a recap/my input on the Tuesday after the Monday episode.

Anybody else watching this season of The Bachlorette? What did you think of the first episode?
