Friday's Letters

Dear Turner,
Please come soon. We are soooo excited to meet you! It's kind of crazy knowing that no matter what, in a little over a week, you will be forced out!!!

Dear Bingo,
I had so much playing you on Saturday with Lauren and company and I can't wait to do it again! Even though none of us won...it was great fun enjoyed by all!!! Bingo is so not just for old people anymore :)

Dear co-workers,
THANK YOU so much for the surprise baby shower you had for me last week! I was so surprised!!! Also thank you for the jogging stroller!!! I CAN'T WAIT to get out and run again and I'm especially excited to use the stroller and have Turner join me!!! You guys are the BEST!!!

Dear Mya,
We've tried very hard to get you ready for life with a baby/kid in the house! I think it will be a big shock when it actually happens, but we know that you are going to love Turner so much! I think you will really enjoy having another human in the house as you always make it seem that your mom and dad are not enough for you! We love spoiling you like crazy right now and you are really enjoying it also!!

Dear 30th Birthday,
You're coming up REAL fast and I'm not sure how I really feel about you. Obviously we have nothing planned as I could be giving birth on that day or be in the hospital...but that's OK because I will getting the BEST PRESENT ever!!!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

Goodbye May and Hello to June!!!

Week 39

Turner this week…

-his brain is still developing rapidly

- He is now able to flex his limbs and his nails might extend past his fingertips

Size of the baby?
Turner is the size of a watermelon!!!

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
Lost 2 lbs since last week so my total weight gain is 26lbs. Doc said she wasn't concerned with the weight loss. It may have been that in the last week I walked like crazy to get my pregnancy mileage goal!!!

Yes...I did it! I walked the 4+ miles on Sunday to reach 350 miles in 35 weeks...but I actually did it in 34 weeks since I finished it with a week left in my pregnancy!!!!

Maternity Clothes?
In total for this pregnancy, I purchased 2 maternity tank tops, 1 maternity shirt, 4 maternity dresses (each one paying less than $15), and 2 pairs of maternity jeans. Everything I purchased was either on clearance or sale. I borrowed a tote of maternity clothes from my good friend, Jen and am so thankful as it helped me out tremendously!!!

Stretch Marks?
Still none and knowing that he will FOR SURE be here in 2 weeks, I am still holding out hope I won't get any!!!

Best Moments?
Checking everything off our list. It's great having everything done...but also killing me knowing that we are more than ready and he still hasn't come!!!

Movement?
Still moving around in there. I love feeling him and trying to take it all in knowing that I will miss that after he's here.

Food Cravings?
Well I did go buy a watermelon and ate the whole thing in less than 1 week. It was delicious and I loved it!!! Still loving my fruit and milk!

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Meat! Won't eat chicken anymore and if I see it's raw...it grosses me out even more!

What I miss?
I miss walking normal and not being in control. I have a love/hate with the anticipation of his arrival!!!

Nausea/Vomiting?
None

Symptoms?
Lower back pain, frequent bathroom breaks...and I mean frequent.

Labor Signs?
He's head down, I am dilated still only at 2.5 cm and not yet 50% effaced. My doc did strip my membranes at my appointment yesterday so as I sit here and type this...I'm hoping that it works and in the next 48 hours I will be giving birth or have given birth!

Gender?
BOY

Belly Button In or Out?
It's out!!!

Wedding Rings On or Off?
Unless I start to swell up in the final weeks, I think I am going to make the whole pregnancy with being able to wear them!!!

Sleep?
Most nights I wake up to pee. I think there was only 2 nights in the last week where I slept through the night. I keep hoping to wake with contractions or my water breaking, but that hasn't happened!!!

What I am looking forward to?
For his arrival! I am more than ready and BEYOND excited!!! I can't wait to see what he looks like, to hold him and be his mama forever and ever! Tate and I enjoyed this Memorial Day weekend as just our lil' family of 3 and are so ready to make it 4!

Turner's Nursery

This Memorial Day weekend...we got everything done remaining on our checklist. It feels so good to have everything done and just relax until Turner decides to make his arrival.

We FINALLY received the glider last week. After that, we just had a few final touches to finish the nursery so with the extra time this weekend...it was completed and it's perfect!!!

The big football is the same football in the wedding photo on the framed chicken wire and was signed by our whole wedding party!!!

Week 38

Turner this week…

-Turner is shedding is his last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair).

-His head is the same circumference as his abdomen and his head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.

Size of the baby?
Turner is the size of a pumpkin! Clearly...it has to be a small pumpkin because there is no way he is the size of those big pumpkins we carve...or is he?!?!

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
+28lbs at my 38 week appointment.

Maternity Clothes?
Wearing the same clothes and I don't care :) He will be here any day and I am not buying any more new clothes until after he's born and I have lost a few of the lb's.

Stretch Marks?
Still don't have any! Wooohoooo...

Best Moments?
The list is all done except hanging a few more items in the nursery and getting the glider. I pretty much keep the house clean everyday and organize other areas of the house because I am nesting like crazy!

Movement?
Still moving. Not as much as he use to but still feel him so many times within' the hour time that my doctor tells me to keep track of.

Food Cravings?
Yesterday I was really craving pizza so I headed to Sam's Club for a quick slice for lunch. It was delicious!!! I am going to go pick up a watermelon after work today and I am sooooo excited to eat that!

Anything making you queasy or sick?
TICKS!!! ugh...so many people have posted on FB about finding them and that they are crazy bad this year. I checked Mya as soon as I woke up this morning and sure enough...found one on her!!! So gross and I feel itchy thinking there is one on me!!!

What I miss?
A few items. Bending over, working out to my full potential, beer, and wine. Can you tell it's so close to the end?!?! haha. Can't wait to do all those things!!!!

Nausea/Vomiting?
None

Symptoms?
Horrible hip pain started this week and I felt like he was going to 'fall out' earlier this week.

Labor Signs?
He is for sure head down. I am between 2-3cm dilated. He has officially dropped also...according to the doctor. I had what I think was a 'contraction' last night. I was getting up to go pee and felt really sharp pain in my belly that lasted about 30 seconds and my stomach got really tight. Haven't felt one since.

Gender?
BOY

Belly Button In or Out?
It's out!!!

Wedding Rings On or Off?
On and still not getting tight! wooohooo...

Sleep?
This week has not been good for sleep. I wake up every other night usually. I sit there thinking my alarm is going to go off soon and then when I look @ my phone, it's not even close to the time I set my alarm. Even though I don't feel the urge to pee, I still get up to go.

What I am looking forward to?
For him to come. Doctor thinks (based on my progress so far) that he will come early, but of course that is no guarantee. The anticipation is KILLING me...but it's also fun!

Maternity Photos

I knew I always wanted to have maternity photos taken to document this very exciting time in our life. I pinned ideas like crazy on pinterest and waited and waited for it to STOP snowing so we could finally take them. We finally were able to take them when I was 36 weeks along. Even though the grass was not plush green...we still had fun and I love how a good chunck of them turned out.

Our photographer is a friend, Kelli Bertsch Photography (blog/facebook) who is building her portfolio as she is just starting out to become a professional photographer. I think she did great and can't wait for her to shoot the newborn photos when Turner arrives.

We decided to take them outdoors @ Minnehaha Falls. Minnehaha Falls is where Tate and I got engaged so it holds a special place in our hearts. We also knew that it's a pretty big place that we would be able to find some area to take them.

Linking up with Kristin again for Baby Talk.

Mother's Day Weekend

This weekend..it was a great one! Not only did I get to actually spend it with my mama...but my husband spoiled me on Mother's Day for being the mama to our lil baby that has yet to come into this world. I wasn't really expecting anything because I wasn't sure if he would think anything of it...but he did and I am sooo lucky!!!

First...on Saturday, my mom came up to spend some time together and lend her sewing skills to make things for our lil' guys room! The best way to detail everything...is to do it in numbers!

2 curtain panels
My mom made 2 full length curtain panels! She did the sewing...I put in the grommets. I LOVE how they turned out and I can't wait to show them off :)

3 pillows
My mom made 3 pillows with fabric that is also used in the quilt that my Grandma is making.

1 crib skirt
We used leftover fabric from the curtain panels to make the crib skirt. Loved that we were able to do this because crib skirts are EXPENSIVE!!!

9+ hours
spent with my mom on Saturday. My mom is so awesome and am so grateful for all the help. She is very talented on the sewing machine and I feel very blessed that I get to call her my mama!!!
After a wonderful Saturday...Sunday Tate decided to have a day filled with things I wanted to do. It started earlier in the week with an email from him.

10 options
He gave me and I got to choose how many I wanted. The first 4 were breakfast options and the rest was fun stuff for the day.

1 sweet note
I woke up to this super sweet note from Tate, Turner & Mya.

30 minute walk
with our princess!! She loves her walks and taking her everyday has been her highlight of each day!

700lbs of ice cream eaten!!!
If you ever have a chance to eat @ Nelson's in Stillwater...you need to go!! I got the 'childs' waffle cone and Tate got the single cup. You seriously get sooo much ice cream and have numerous flavors to choose from. I picked sea salt carmel and chocolate peanut butter swirl!

10 minute massage
Tate has given me many massages during this pregnancy, but the one he gave on Mother's Day was soooo nice!!! He used 'stress relief' lotion on my back and it was wonderful! Probably the best massage I have ever had!

I did also choose a 'mystery' option on the list of items he sent, but we couldn't fit it in due to the weather! He won't tell me what it is becuase he says he needs to keep it for future use.

I had an awesome Mother's Day To Be weekend and I look forward to actually becoming a Mommy and meeting Turner in a few short weeks :)

Week 37

First and foremost...thank you EVERYONE for the super sweet comments yesterday regarding his name! I definitely felt the love and appreciate it!!!!

Turner this week…
Yup...no more Baby W :)

-Turner is gaining about 1/2 ounce a day and getting his first sticky poop ready

-He is brushing up on his skills for the world outside of my womb: blinking, sucking, inhaling, exhaling and gripping (he's getting strong).

Size of the baby?
Turner is the size of a wintermelon! Had to look that one up because I thought FOR SURE they meant to write watermelon. haha. Apparently a wintermelon is a part of the cucumber family. Never heard of it...have you?!?!

Total Weight Gain/Loss?
+27lbs at my 37 week appointment.

Maternity Clothes?
The bigger I get, the clothing choices get smaller. I am in a rotation of clothes every 1.5 weeks. Luckily, I am getting so close to the end & won't have to worry about it much longer.

Stretch Marks?
Still don't have any...thank gosh :)

Best Moments?
Checking things off on our to do list. We are officially ready with the really important stuff. Hospital bag is packed and car seats are installed. Nursery still needs to be finished, but I am not trying to stress over that!

Movement?
Still moving around in that, but not as often as he used to. But when he does move...he is jammin' out and movin' like crazy!

Food Cravings?
Milk and fruit. We are on gallon #5 for this month.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
Raw chicken still.

What I miss?
Being comfortable. I've moved into the 'uncomfortable' category. Still love that he is in there, growing and healthy...but it is taking a toll on my body and making me slow down. I don't like to slow down!

Nausea/Vomiting?
None

Symptoms?
Had more bloody noses in the past week. Still can 'feel' him grow by my belly getting bigger. Started getting lower back pain also.

Labor Signs?
He is for sure head down. I am almost 2cm dilated. I think she was trying to see if '2 fingers' fit in the cervix, she really didn't check how much effaced I was. I clearly can't go backwards (at least I hope you can't) so we know that I am at least 20% effaced.

Gender?
BOY

Belly Button In or Out?
It's out!!!

Wedding Rings On or Off?
On and still not getting tight! wooohooo...

Sleep?
This past week has been good with sleep. Getting a full 7-8 hours and loving it! I seriously wake up not feeling pregnant, and then when I turn to get my phone...I'm reminded I am pregnant because I can't turn over fast enough!

What I am looking forward to?
Finishing up the nursery. The glider should be coming in a week...fingers crossed...so hopefully everything can be finalized. I am also looking forward to when he will actually be arriving. It seriously could be any day and I love that my body is preparing for it.
