MN Family Weekend

This weekend was a FUN one. I threw my sister a bridal shower with all her friends and we celebrated Thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family tree. I love spending time with family and Turner sure loves all the attention!

My sisters wedding shower was 'Jamaica' theme since she's getting married there in February. I had fun planning this with her best friend and it went off with a bang!

We enjoyed mimosas, brunch and one fun game of 'How well do you know the Bride...'

Hannah got many great gifts and many ladies had great suggestions for the 'date night jar' I made for her.

Then on Sunday, my Grandma hosted Thanksgiving for my Dad's side of the family since most of us were busy this weekend coming up. (She alternates having holidays on the actually holiday day every other year). We will be attending the Viking vs Packer game this weekend and will be in WI on Thanksgiving celebrating with our WI family.

My brother reading Turner his bedtime story...so adorable!

I love everything about spending time with family and counting my blessings. I am so grateful for my family and Turner to have such special people to love on him. He was one tired boy Sunday evening...practically asking to have his bath so he could go to bed.

I long for the weekends but never wish away time. I cherish each and every minute of every day...each day is a blessing and I will always be thankful that I get to live this life that God blessed me with!

No Place I'd Rather Be

I'm currently sitting here and the song 'Rather Be' comes on by Clean Bandit. I've never listened to the words of the song (or any song hence the reason I always get them wrong when I try to sing the song)...but this phrase stuck to me...'No Place I'd Rather Be'.

It's true...there is no other place I would rather be in my life than where I am today.

As of today and each day forward...

I'm a Believer.

I'm a Wife to this incredible man with the most patience of anyone I know.

I'm a Mother to the funniest, loving lil' man in the world.

I'm a Daughter!

I'm a Sister!

I'm a Friend!

I'm a CPA!

I'm weird, crazy, hard working, frugal, funny, etc.

There are many words that can define me buy so many different people.

On this day 3 years ago...a new chapter in life began and it's the chapter that I never want to end. Having Tate by my side for all these memories, blessing and life moments is truly a gift.

There really is no place I'd rather be!

Happy 3 years babe...cheers to many many more!

XOXO,

O'Neil Wedding

Tate and I got to celebrate the nuptials of our friends, Tim & Tanya this weekend. It was very special since this was our wedding weekend 3 years ago. I love celebrating love.

My mom was up watching Turner which we were so thankful for. Turner sure does love his Grandma and spending time with her.

Tim & Tanya were married in a Lutheran Church and I though the Pastor did such a good job and gave a great message. I love when a great, unique message is given!!

Tanya's dress was gorgeous!!  Lace, sparkle and fit her like a glove!!!
(photo stolen off Facebook)

The reception was held @ the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.

A few of my college friends!

My crazy half :) Molly came home to MN for the wedding from CA and is 6 months preggo...she's due with a boy in February 2015. Can't wait to meet the lil' guy!!!

We clean up pretty good :) xoxo

The girls with the bride!

Congrats to Tim & Tanya! So happy for you 2!

This wedding was our last of the season! We actually didn't have very many which is kind of nice...I guess it's more baby showers these days!

I hope to be back blogging a few days a week since I miss this space of mine and the memories I have documented. Turner is growing so fast and I feel like I should set aside time when he goes to bed to record these memories so that I have them to look back at.

#themayers wedding - 4th of July

Finally getting around to recapping our long 4th of July vacation in WI. Having my lil' guy...all I really want to do all day is play with him, nap when he does or get things done that I have on my to do list (this post has been on my to-do list for many weeks now...that's how fast I get to things)!

We headed out of town on the 3rd for a nice long vacation in WI so Tate's family could meet Turner and celebrate the love & wedding of one of Tate's best friends from high school. Packing for an infant for that long requires LOTS of things. Along with our stuff plus the dog...we had a FULL car.

Mya loved having the front seat!! I swear people that drove by us thought my husband loves our dog more than me...unless they saw the car seat and then understood, I would hope :)

We got to town around dinner time on Wednesday and went straight to where we were staying which was a good friend of Tate's from high school and his girlfriends home. They have a dog also...so it's fun for Mya to be able to have fun with another of her own :)

Boys went to go pick up their tuxes for the wedding and us girls and Turner just hung out. We just planned on grilling some food and hanging out there for the night as the next few days were going to be super busy.

We spent the late morning and early afternoon at Tate's Grandma's house with his family. They all wanted to meet Turner so we had a lil' BBQ. This not only is the first grandchild on Tate's side, but also his Grandma's first great-grandchild.

Tate's Dad - Tate's brother Nate - Tate's brother Luke

After we enjoyed family time, we went over to a friends place to enjoy more BBQ and yard games.

Turner was really excited for his first 4th!!!

Our lil' fam on the 4th!

When it was time to watch the fireworks, Tate and I loaded up the car and drove over to the park where we could watch. It was Turner's feeding time so we parked the car, I fed Turner while watching the fireworks. It worked out good being in the car away from the loud noise and bugs.

After the fireworks, we called it a night and headed home while everyone else headed to the bar. Life most definitely does change when you have a baby...WI trip use to be bar, beer and cheese :)

Tate woke up early on Friday morning to go golfing with the boys in the wedding party. They were able to golf @ the country club that the reception was and he wouldn't stop talking about how nice the course was. He was in heaven!!!

Turner and I had a play date with Leslie and Wyatt. Wyatt was born back in mid April. Tate went to high school with Leslie and her husband, Matt. Tate and Matt were both wrestlers, so now they talk about the boys being wrestlers and who could take who!!! Boys...always being competitive.

Leslie and I couldn't stop laughing at them just chillin' on the floor...so cute!!!

The remainder of Friday was spend relaxing and getting ready for the wedding. Tate attended the rehearsal @ the church and I met up with everyone after @ the dinner where we ate some delicious food. Tate spent a majority of the night hanging out with the groom and his buddies while Turner and I returned home to get a good nights rest before the big day.

Saturday was the big wedding day!! I was so excited for this couple as they had been dating for 10 years and were FINALLY getting hitched!!! I was also super excited to dress Turner up in his wedding attire that I had purchased when I was pregnant with him knowing this wedding was happening.

Turner did good during the ceremony...I did have to go into the lobby to prevent him from crying. It was better this way since the lobby had AC but the church did not. I could still see and hear everything!

The very beautiful bride and handsome groom!
The groom injured himself a month before the wedding playing basketball and had to wear a boot...he did great walking on it during the ceremony and dances (even though he shouldn't have been)!

Could Turner not be any cuter in his bow tie outfit?!?! I couldn't get enough of him and his adorableness #gloatingmama

The gorgeous view from the reception location...right on the lake!

The reception was loads of fun. Each table had the table number and written on the bottom of the block that the number was on was a song...when the DJ played that song during dinner, that table had to get up and dance. Our table had the 'Cupid Shuffle' as our song. It was fun and I loved that idea.

The bride & groom after the 1st dance
Miss Erin...cutest southern belle who was 34 pregnant at the time (can't wait for his arrival)
Turner not sure what to think of everything :)

For the wedding party dance, the bride and groom purchased a load of stuff from the local thrift shop and gave each person something to wear and they danced to 'Thrift Shop'. It was so fun and hilarious to watch!!!

We had a great time back in WI for the extra long weekend and loved spending it with many family and friends. Turner did great on the long trip and loved meeting all the WI people in our lives!

Alison and Mark - so excited that we got to share in your special day and we are beyond excited for what the future holds for you 2 lovebirds. We can't wait to come back again and spend time with you both and lil' Miss Lola!! Even though you had been together 10 years before your special day...the true fun does really begin now. Savor each day and memory! We love you!!! Tate, Bridget, Turner & Mya!!

PS...Turner is looking for either his bball lovin, vest wearing bestie or a girl for him to drool over...no pressure ;)

Katie's Wedding Weekend

We made it to St. Cloud for a fun wedding weekend and survived with our 2 week old!!! To say we were exhausted when we got back yesterday is an understatement.

The drive up was good until we hit road construction and was stuck going less than 5 mph for a good 30-40 minutes. Oh...it also sucks when your stuck with an infant which has a feeding schedule. Luckily, we had formula just in case and thank gosh we did. We got to the hotel and only arrived to the rehearsal 10 minutes late...which I consider a success!!

After the rehearsal @ the church, we headed to the Groom's parents house for the Groom's dinner. They had a nice set up in the backyard. The weather was beautiful.

We only stayed until a bit after nine and then headed back to the hotel. We brought the bassinet that is from Turner's pack n play for him to sleep in. It worked out really well. I got some decent sleep in between his feedings.

I had my hair appointment the next morning at 9:45 at the Bride's home. Tate was going to be on full daddy duty all day. I brought my pump along so I could pump throughout the day and give the milk to Tate for him to feed Turner.

The day turned out beautiful for Katie's big day. It was sunny and in the 80's all day. We got beautiful pictures @ the park and baseball field.

First Look

Turner did great throughout the day for daddy! I missed him of course...but new he was in great hands. I'm so lucky that Turner has the best Dad!!!

Turner in his wedding best :)

It was also good to see friends we hadn't seen in awhile and they were able to meet Turner. My bestie, Amanda came with the twins. They are getting so big and cuter by the day.

Maysen making funny faces...so adorable!!!

We stayed for the first few dances @ the reception, then it was time to feed Turner again and I was exhausted! The day was very fun...but I was ready to hit the sack!

Trying to make up for missing him all day!!!

My lil' family!!! xoxo...love them both so much!!!

We ended the weekend with a great Father's Day for Tate. We relaxed, had salmon for dinner and he opened his gift from Turner. It was great to be back. Turner even slept in his crib for the night.

Happy Father's Day to these 2 great Dad's!!!!

This Weekend I...

...once again had a 1 day weekend and got a whole lot accomplished!!!

...picked 3 of the 6 fabrics that my Grandma will need to make a quilt for Baby Boy W. I spent a ridiculous amount of time @ JoAnn's...but was happy to at least pick out some fabric that will be incorporated into his nursery.

...on Sunday...I braved the snow storm for a bit to get to the gym and grocery store. After I got home, I got right to work on checking things off my list.

...painted the dresser that we will be using in the nursery. It is a dresser that I had growing up. My dad made each one of us a dresser when we were kids. I decided to paint it and do something fun with it! You wont' be able to see it until I am finished...but for now, the whole dresser is painted. I also found inside the date my dad finished making it. It was really neat since I was on the phone with him when I found the date. It is kind of crazy that it's 29 years to (almost) the day. I plan to add to it...the date I transformed it.

...also painted a few other items that will be going on the wall in the nursery! Once again, you will have to wait to see until I am finished :)

...painted the trim in our bathroom...finally! I add blogged about remodeling bathroom#1 awhile back and mentioned that we were 90% finished. Well, I finished one more item. We will need to paint the trim around the doors once we get white doors to replace the golden oak.

The top photo is 'before' photo. Only primed and you can see the nail holes. The bottom photo shows the trim done being painted. As you can see...some of the paint came off the wall when I removed the tape. Not cool...but no big deal. Will need to do a touch up soon!

...made all the dinners for the week. I found a 'system' during this tax season that has been working. I make all the dinners for the week on Sunday. Since I work late every night...I like to have something to bring to work and something in the fridge for Tate to warm up. I usually make a big batch of one thing (lasagna last week, pot roast with carrots & potatoes this week) and then a few other items for the rest of the nights. The big batch item is usually for at least 2 nights of that week.

My big batch of pot roast & veggies...that I will NOT be eating! I don't eat that kind of meat and certainly don't eat cooked veggies! Tate is very excited to have this a few nights this week.

...ended it on the couch with Tate & I watching the Grammy Awards. Relaxing before another long week ahead...but ready to take it on. 3 weeks down, 9 to go of tax season!

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. - Wine basket (Bachelorette gift)

Hey everyone...it's a post that is not about baby or pregnancy!!! It's actually about WINE :)

I'm linking up for the first time for Saw it, Pinned it, Did it!

For my friends bachelorette party last weekend, I found this wine gift basket idea on pinterest. I only 'liked' it so my friend wouldn't see that I pinned it!

 How super cute is that?!!?

The person that created this even has a pdf of different colors for you to print the tags in a color that you like. I picked navy since that is one of the colors of my friends wedding.

SUPPLIES:
Navy card stock
Printed tags
Hole punch
Decorative scissors
Paper cuter
Ribbon
Zots

After I printed the tags, I cut them to size

After cutting the tags, I used the zots to put them on the navy card stock. I then used the decorative edging scissors to cut them out. I used the paper cuter for the straight edge.

I then used the hole punch to tie the ribbon into and then put them on the wine bottles.

I used a sheer navy ribbon to decorate the basket.

And here they all are pretty in the basket!!!!

My friend LOVED them!!! All the other girls thought it was very cute and creative!!

This was so fun doing and it is super easy and I guarantee the bride to be will LOVE IT!!!
