Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 22

  • Baby is the size of a papaya.
  • Baby is settling into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day.
  • Baby is moving and kicking like crazy...and I love every second of it.
  • Tate felt the baby for the first time on March 22, 2015. We were watching TV and I felt the baby move. I told him and he immediately reached over to feel. I moved his hand to where the movement was and he felt it. I wasn't sure if he would be able to feel it yet but he did and he loved it so much.
  • Been going to the gym more now. I decided I need to make time for my workouts because my body is tell me to. Work can get overwhelming and that time away is very nice. Last week I was on the treadmill and the lady next to me told me I was SO ADORABLE...it pretty much made my day :)
  • Not sure on weight gain...doctor appt is next week. We finally got a new battery for the scale so maybe I'll have a better idea going forward.
  • As you can see...my belly button popped...it actually did awhile ago but now is just way more noticeable.
  • Wedding ring still fits, no stretch marks that I can see and we have had no labor signs...thank gosh.
  • I have been researching double strollers...and suggestions welcome. Looking at the sit and stand kind because then Turner will have options as he grows.
  • Got the Solly Baby Wrap and I can't wait to use it. They were having a sale so I knew it was my time to get it. We don't have too many items on the list of items to purchase but this was definitely one of them as I know I may be doing a lot more baby wearing this time around since I'll have a toddler to chase.
  • We have a girl name for sure picked out. I have a boy name...but Tate is unsure. It is the same name we were deciding between for Turner or this one...and now Tate doesn't know if he likes it. It's the only name I like that I have seen or heard so far so I hope he eventually likes it again...considering he thought of it many years ago!
  • Nothing sounds good unless it's carbs or sweets. Veggies and protein sounds gross...but I have been forcing myself to eat some.
  • Tax season ends in 21 days :)

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 21

  • Baby is the size of a pomegranate
  • If baby is a girl, her womb is now stocked up with her lifetime supply of six million eggs (that number will drop to around one million by birth)...so crazy.
  • I have finally hit 'exhaustion'. I have had the worst head cold this last week and felt like my body is telling me to rest. Work, daycare, family has all been crazy this week. Turner has also been sick, our daycare lady was sick...it was just never ending along with the first tax deadline on Monday. I decided to slow down because I will not put my health or this baby at risk for anything.
  • I am unsure how much I have gained but I amt thinking probably around 12 lbs.
  • I get so busy at work and home that I sometimes forget to eat which results in me getting light headed and needing food super bad. I know this is bad and I am trying to be conscious that I really need to eat.
  • I can still feel baby move throughout the day. If I don't feel he/she move, I get very worried. Tate has yet to feel it.
  • I did cave and buy some more maternity clothes. Gap was having 40% off everything sale so I went and found a dress, jeans and pants for work for just $37. Love Gap...Love sales...Love saving money :)
  • Counting down the days until tax season is over so I can enjoy time with my family.
  • We bought an ottoman from Target for the nursery that was on clearance. That's one thing I wish I would have had for Turner's nursery when feeding him so I could put my feet up and now we have one so I am super excited.
  • Pre-registered with the hospital...crazy to think my doctor already asked me to do that.
  • Still not stretch marks which is nice. I lather up with my Renew lotion every evening after shower so I am hoping that prevents them from appearing.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 20

(face gets covered after a 14 hour day)
  • Baby is the size of banana (nana as Turner calls it).
  • Halfway there...wow, just wow.
  • Baby is practicing swallowing and digesting by gulping down ounces of amniotic fluid.
  • We had our ultrasound yesterday and loved seeing our lil' miracle.
  • Baby has 10 fingers and 10 toes...we got to see all the organs, his or her very nice long spine, and even his or her nose and lips.
  • We looked away when the ultrasound tech looked at the bladder and groin area so that we would not accidentally see the gender. I don't think I would have known either way...but just to be safe we looked away.
  • I have no idea if the ultrasound tech knows or saw the gender and I didn't want to ask. I am going to pretend she doesn't and that only God really knows.
  • Baby was super active and moving so much. It was adorable. Arms moving around....kick legs, twisting and turning. The tech was finding it difficult to get some pictures because the baby was moving so much.
  • My doctor told me that the baby is already in the 83%ile for growth and so we will be monitoring that closely (I have no idea what that really means so I'll have to ask about it at my next appt).
  • The baby measures at 21 weeks 1 day...but I don't think they plan on changing my due date.
  • I've officially retired the belly band and non maternity clothes. It's just too uncomfortable. Thank gosh the weather is warming up because most of my maternity clothes are NOT winter friendly.
  • Still no stretch marks and wedding rings still fit. I anticipate they will fit the entire pregnancy because they did with Turner and everything seems to be the exact same for this pregnancy.
  • Getting only about 6-6.5 hours of sleep because of tax season. Deadline #1 is on Monday so I am hoping I can scale back a little bit with work so that my body has time to rest. Working 75 hour weeks is not ideal for a pregnant woman (or anyone for that matter).
  • Started hitting up the gym again which my body thanks me for. I do 10 minutes of warm up cardio (elliptical, stair master or cycling) and then do some lifting of weights.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 19

  • Baby is the size of a mango
  • I have gained a total of 9 lbs which seems to be right on track with my first pregnancy.
  • Had a doctors appointment yesterday, got to hear the heart beat again...159 beautiful beats per minute :)
  • Measuring right on point
  • Still haven't purchased any new maternity clothes. Being stubborn about this not because I don't want to but because I am so frugal. I hate how they increase the price of something because it says 'maternity'. Pants are difficult to fit in if they are non maternity so I may have to splurge with that but I will definitely try to find a deal and they will more likely be on sale if I purchase them.
  • Sleep is still going good. I don't ever wake during the night. They key is just getting enough sleep from working, not because I am pregnant.
  • Still not liking veggies at all so I have been making myself a smoothie and packing it full of spinach to get the nutrients. Try to eat healthy but it's so difficult when none of sounds appetizing.
  • Feeling the baby move more and more now. I love it. Tate has yet to feel it but I think that will be soon he will be able to.
  • Looking forward to our ultrasound next week. Can't wait to see our baby and know everything is going good growth wise. Praying that he or she is healthy.
  • Gender will not be known until this baby is born.
  • I haven't worked out much since returning from Jamaica due to the fact that work is taking so much of my time. I plan to get back to the gym on tomorrow as this body is craving a workout.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 18

  • The baby is now the size of a sweet potato
  • The baby is passing the time by yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing.
  • I'm feeling movements a lot more now. Last night as I lay to go to sleep, he/she was in there moving like crazy...that feeling will NEVER get old.
  • I'll have a doctors appointment next week to know how much I have gained. That will tell me if I need to lay off the girl scout cookies or not ;)
  • Haven't purchased any new maternity clothes this week but I think I really need to. Just using a hair tie and the belly band for most of my work pants is getting uncomfortable, especially when I am working 12+ hour days.
  • Still sleeping just great. I'm using my pregnancy pillow I got when pregnant with Turner and LOVE IT...even if it takes up so much room in our Queen size bed.
  • Still have no caved and wanted to know the gender. We have our ultra sound scheduled for 3/10. I don't want to know but I do...it's so difficult. But Tate won't let me change my mind so I'm pretty sure it will be a surprise in July.
  • Still no progress nursery and nothing will happen until after tax season. I'm been pining ideas like crazy though.
  • Doing many other house projects though. I don't know why I do this to myself when I am working so much...but I do because I can't sit still and LOVE to cross things off our long list of items to get done before baby comes. Currently in the process of painting our entry and upstairs living room.
Tate and I tackled priming the red wall on Sunday.
  • Starting to feel that this pregnancy is going by super fast. At first I didn't think it was but now that I am almost at the 1/2 way point has me worried about getting everything done. I know everything will fall into place and it will be perfect for us...but being the worry wart I am, it's always on my mind.
  • Last week was Ash Wednesday and I gave up Facebook for lent. It's been very difficult especially when I know pictures from Jamaica are being posted...but I knew if I was going to give something up, it had do be something that I felt was difficult for me to do. Since that day, I have become more active on Twitter ;)

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 16 & 17

16 weeks + 1 day on the beach in Jamaica

  • Too busy last week to post about week 16 since we left on Wed for Jamaica. I didn't even take a belly photo so I'm documenting one from the beach.
  • Just like with my pregnancy with Turner, I won't be weighing myself in between doctor appointments...we do have a scale now but the battery died and I am far too busy to even think about changing it ;) So with that, I am up 5-6lbs probably.
  • Busted out and washed all maternity clothes. Went shopping for a pair of maternity jeans. My frugal side couldn't spend the $40 on them so I bought a size up in the low waist skinny jeans that were only $10 that fit perfect because they sit low enough below my expanding waistline.
  • I swear I thought I felt movement Monday morning, but I think it was just gas pains..haha
  • I think I officially felt movement while in Jamaica. The first night we were there I thought I felt something but I convinced myself it was gas pains or air bubbles. But the next night, I felt it again and this time I was not gassy or backed up (TMI?...who cares) so I know for sure it was the baby and it felt amazing!!!
  • So I am in full fledged tax season and working 70 hour weeks. Luckily it hasn't been a problem yet in the sleep department and my 6.5 hours a night is doing just fine.
  • We still are not planning on finding out the gender but all the Jamaican's told me it's a boy by the shape of my belly and how I am carrying. I already am convinced it's a boy so if it's a girl, I will be SO SURPRISED! One Jamaican told me girl...but only 1 out of about 20 that said something.
  • Now if I ask Turner where his baby is, he lifts up my shirt. It's so cute and I just love randomly asking him.
  • Still getting enough sleep (well enough to get me through my work days which is 6.5 hours). Can't wait for tax season to end so I can enjoy more sleep.
  • Had a ton of fun in Jamaica with my family. My sister's wedding was great and I'm sad we are already back. I do love being back to my normal routine, but hate the cold and long hours I'm currently working.
  • Bought my first nursery item for the new baby. It is a wooden carving of a giraffe from Jamaica. I plan to incorporate animals into the gender neutral nursery so it's perfect.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 15

  • Baby is the size of an orange
  • Baby's legs now out measure their arms
  • I have gained a total of 5 pounds and the Doc is happy with that. I'm actually surprised it's not more because I feel like I have been eating like crap. I'm trying so hard to eat more veggies...but when cheese curds or ice cream sound better, I go for that!
  • I have 2 pairs of pants I can still button normally for work otherwise everything is being held up by a hair elastic and the belly band. I have busted out and worn some maternity clothes.
  • Still no stretch marks. I did have some more of a mole removed on my stomach 1.5 weeks ago since it tested positive for pre-cancerous cells so they wanted to remove more just to be sure...curious how that will look as my stomach gets bigger.
  • No feeling of movement..can't wait though!
  • Have had lots of cramping and sharp pains. Doc says normal since my body already knows what to do, it also got bigger faster which means pelvis is opening up and belly/uterus is shifting more since there is the room from already expanding. When I sit for long periods of time...I notice these pains after getting up. Doc isn't worried so I'm not. She said that pain will end soon.
  • Hips have already shifted. they are sitting so high right now.
  • Craving still pickles, mac and cheese and ice cream. Still eating lots of peanut butter. Love carbs like crazy.
  • Once again...we will not find out the gender (the more I announce it...the more I feel like I can't change my mind). Scheduled our ultrasound in 5 weeks...just need to stay strong and then the best surprise will be given to us in July.
  • Sleeping OK. Have crazy nightmares about miscarriages or death in general. I hate it.
  • Heard a beautiful heartbeat of 161 at my doc appt yesterday!
  • If Turner sees me changing, he sees my growing belly and says 'baby'. We also borrowed a doll from a friend for a party we attended and now Turner plays with it until we return it...which then we will get him his own. He does great with it...for the most part.
  • Daycare told me that Turner does great with the baby there. He is very gentle with him and even plays with him (he is 7 months old). She even posted this photo and said they were giggling at each other...melted my heart! Makes me rest assured he is going to be a great big brother.
