Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 19

  • Baby is the size of a mango
  • I have gained a total of 9 lbs which seems to be right on track with my first pregnancy.
  • Had a doctors appointment yesterday, got to hear the heart beat again...159 beautiful beats per minute :)
  • Measuring right on point
  • Still haven't purchased any new maternity clothes. Being stubborn about this not because I don't want to but because I am so frugal. I hate how they increase the price of something because it says 'maternity'. Pants are difficult to fit in if they are non maternity so I may have to splurge with that but I will definitely try to find a deal and they will more likely be on sale if I purchase them.
  • Sleep is still going good. I don't ever wake during the night. They key is just getting enough sleep from working, not because I am pregnant.
  • Still not liking veggies at all so I have been making myself a smoothie and packing it full of spinach to get the nutrients. Try to eat healthy but it's so difficult when none of sounds appetizing.
  • Feeling the baby move more and more now. I love it. Tate has yet to feel it but I think that will be soon he will be able to.
  • Looking forward to our ultrasound next week. Can't wait to see our baby and know everything is going good growth wise. Praying that he or she is healthy.
  • Gender will not be known until this baby is born.
  • I haven't worked out much since returning from Jamaica due to the fact that work is taking so much of my time. I plan to get back to the gym on tomorrow as this body is craving a workout.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 18

  • The baby is now the size of a sweet potato
  • The baby is passing the time by yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing.
  • I'm feeling movements a lot more now. Last night as I lay to go to sleep, he/she was in there moving like crazy...that feeling will NEVER get old.
  • I'll have a doctors appointment next week to know how much I have gained. That will tell me if I need to lay off the girl scout cookies or not ;)
  • Haven't purchased any new maternity clothes this week but I think I really need to. Just using a hair tie and the belly band for most of my work pants is getting uncomfortable, especially when I am working 12+ hour days.
  • Still sleeping just great. I'm using my pregnancy pillow I got when pregnant with Turner and LOVE IT...even if it takes up so much room in our Queen size bed.
  • Still have no caved and wanted to know the gender. We have our ultra sound scheduled for 3/10. I don't want to know but I do...it's so difficult. But Tate won't let me change my mind so I'm pretty sure it will be a surprise in July.
  • Still no progress nursery and nothing will happen until after tax season. I'm been pining ideas like crazy though.
  • Doing many other house projects though. I don't know why I do this to myself when I am working so much...but I do because I can't sit still and LOVE to cross things off our long list of items to get done before baby comes. Currently in the process of painting our entry and upstairs living room.
Tate and I tackled priming the red wall on Sunday.
  • Starting to feel that this pregnancy is going by super fast. At first I didn't think it was but now that I am almost at the 1/2 way point has me worried about getting everything done. I know everything will fall into place and it will be perfect for us...but being the worry wart I am, it's always on my mind.
  • Last week was Ash Wednesday and I gave up Facebook for lent. It's been very difficult especially when I know pictures from Jamaica are being posted...but I knew if I was going to give something up, it had do be something that I felt was difficult for me to do. Since that day, I have become more active on Twitter ;)

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 16 & 17

16 weeks + 1 day on the beach in Jamaica

  • Too busy last week to post about week 16 since we left on Wed for Jamaica. I didn't even take a belly photo so I'm documenting one from the beach.
  • Just like with my pregnancy with Turner, I won't be weighing myself in between doctor appointments...we do have a scale now but the battery died and I am far too busy to even think about changing it ;) So with that, I am up 5-6lbs probably.
  • Busted out and washed all maternity clothes. Went shopping for a pair of maternity jeans. My frugal side couldn't spend the $40 on them so I bought a size up in the low waist skinny jeans that were only $10 that fit perfect because they sit low enough below my expanding waistline.
  • I swear I thought I felt movement Monday morning, but I think it was just gas pains..haha
  • I think I officially felt movement while in Jamaica. The first night we were there I thought I felt something but I convinced myself it was gas pains or air bubbles. But the next night, I felt it again and this time I was not gassy or backed up (TMI?...who cares) so I know for sure it was the baby and it felt amazing!!!
  • So I am in full fledged tax season and working 70 hour weeks. Luckily it hasn't been a problem yet in the sleep department and my 6.5 hours a night is doing just fine.
  • We still are not planning on finding out the gender but all the Jamaican's told me it's a boy by the shape of my belly and how I am carrying. I already am convinced it's a boy so if it's a girl, I will be SO SURPRISED! One Jamaican told me girl...but only 1 out of about 20 that said something.
  • Now if I ask Turner where his baby is, he lifts up my shirt. It's so cute and I just love randomly asking him.
  • Still getting enough sleep (well enough to get me through my work days which is 6.5 hours). Can't wait for tax season to end so I can enjoy more sleep.
  • Had a ton of fun in Jamaica with my family. My sister's wedding was great and I'm sad we are already back. I do love being back to my normal routine, but hate the cold and long hours I'm currently working.
  • Bought my first nursery item for the new baby. It is a wooden carving of a giraffe from Jamaica. I plan to incorporate animals into the gender neutral nursery so it's perfect.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 15

  • Baby is the size of an orange
  • Baby's legs now out measure their arms
  • I have gained a total of 5 pounds and the Doc is happy with that. I'm actually surprised it's not more because I feel like I have been eating like crap. I'm trying so hard to eat more veggies...but when cheese curds or ice cream sound better, I go for that!
  • I have 2 pairs of pants I can still button normally for work otherwise everything is being held up by a hair elastic and the belly band. I have busted out and worn some maternity clothes.
  • Still no stretch marks. I did have some more of a mole removed on my stomach 1.5 weeks ago since it tested positive for pre-cancerous cells so they wanted to remove more just to be sure...curious how that will look as my stomach gets bigger.
  • No feeling of movement..can't wait though!
  • Have had lots of cramping and sharp pains. Doc says normal since my body already knows what to do, it also got bigger faster which means pelvis is opening up and belly/uterus is shifting more since there is the room from already expanding. When I sit for long periods of time...I notice these pains after getting up. Doc isn't worried so I'm not. She said that pain will end soon.
  • Hips have already shifted. they are sitting so high right now.
  • Craving still pickles, mac and cheese and ice cream. Still eating lots of peanut butter. Love carbs like crazy.
  • Once again...we will not find out the gender (the more I announce it...the more I feel like I can't change my mind). Scheduled our ultrasound in 5 weeks...just need to stay strong and then the best surprise will be given to us in July.
  • Sleeping OK. Have crazy nightmares about miscarriages or death in general. I hate it.
  • Heard a beautiful heartbeat of 161 at my doc appt yesterday!
  • If Turner sees me changing, he sees my growing belly and says 'baby'. We also borrowed a doll from a friend for a party we attended and now Turner plays with it until we return it...which then we will get him his own. He does great with it...for the most part.
  • Daycare told me that Turner does great with the baby there. He is very gentle with him and even plays with him (he is 7 months old). She even posted this photo and said they were giggling at each other...melted my heart! Makes me rest assured he is going to be a great big brother.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Week 14

  • Baby is sucking his or her thumb and wiggling his or her toes
  • Baby is the size of a lemon
  • My total weight gain...not sure. At my 11 week doc appt I was up 2 pounds. Next appt is at 15 weeks.
  • I've busted out my maternity clothes stash and started wearing them. I'm still using belly band on normal clothes.
  • No stretch marks at the moment.
  • No feeling of movement yet.
  • Craving pickles like crazy this week. I craved them my whole first trimester with Turner. Also mac & cheese.
  • We do not know the gender and we don't plan to find out...we will have the best surprise ever come July.
  • Sleeping great with my awesome pregnancy pillow. Waking up early since tax season just started this week.
  • Looking forward to doctor appointment next week so I can hear baby's heartbeat.
  • Love asking Turner what is in Mommy's belly...his response every time is 'baby'. If he is around while I am changing and sees my growing bump...he'll even say 'baby'. It is the cutest thing ever.
  • Turner did not like Tate or I holding other babies this last week. He cried and got super sad. It was cute but also scary to think what will actually happen when baby comes. We plan to get him a doll for him to take care of his baby brother or sister, we heard that is good to do.

Bump Day Baby #2 - Weeks 4-13

I started writing all this the day I found out we were expecting again. I do plan to do weekly bump updates with this pregnancy also. I absolutely LOVED doing it when I was pregnant with Turner and I really enjoy looking back at those photos and reading how I was feeling. I also loved looking back during the first trimester to compare the 2 pregnancy's.

Week 4 -2 days, November 20, 2014
WOW...today is a day I am so thankful for. Today we found out we are pregnant with baby #2. I cried tears of joy this morning after seeing the pregnancy test. I prayed so much for this...and to have the Lord answer those prayers has us feeling very blessed.

"For this child I have prayed and the Lord has granted my request." - 1 Samuel 1:27

I went to get Turner out of his crib this morning, and the first thing he said to me was 'baby'. One of his favorite words at the moment...and what good timing :)

I had bought a super cute shirt early this week that said 'best bro ever'. I put it on Turner this morning and had him go wake up his dad. It took a few minutes for Tate to really see it...but when he finally did he read it. He asks me when I got that shirt...and then it was like the light bulb when on...'ARE YOU SERIOUS'? haha. I just smiled and said yes.

Week 5 - Tuesday, November 25, 2014
Today marks week 5 of this pregnancy. Other than a little cramping...I kind of forget that I am pregnant. My mom has been in town since Saturday because we had a weekend of celebrating an engagement and attending the Vikings vs Packers game. I also had a meeting Monday night (and since Tate works late on Monday...she stayed to care for Turner). So it's been tricky to not say anything pregnancy related or talk about since we are waiting until Christmas time to tell our families. Our best friends are once again the only people that know. We both told them the day we found out. I go into the doctor tomorrow to confirm pregnancy. We will also be celebrating Thanksgiving this week. We will be heading back to WI for the long weekend. I will be purchasing O'douls and non alcoholic wine to cover up the pregnancy with our friends. I did the same thing when I was pregnant with Turner and it worked like a charm :) Let's hope it works again.

Week 6 -Tuesday, December 2, 2014
We traveled to WI to celebrate Thanksgiving and we were able to hide the pregnancy very well. I once again brought O'douls and switched out a few of Tate's Miller Lite's with it so when I went to grab a 'beer', it looked like a Miller Lite but little did they know, it was actually O'douls. I also drank many virgin Bloody Mary's. We even went out one night to the bar and I brought an O'douls in my purse. I then went to the bathroom to put in an empty glass that Tate had after he finished his beer. Worked like a charm. I usually do drink one glass of wine or have a beer when out so I knew our friends would know something was up if I was not drinking. Especially since one of Tate's best high school friends, Mark, was already thinking we were going to announce something. We plan to tell them over Christmas and he's going to be so mad...and happy and I can't wait for that moment :)

I did find out one of my co-workers is pregnant also...and due 1 week before me which will be interesting considering we work in a small office. She has already told our boss for personal reasons. I don't' feel comfortable yet doing that but I have thought about it so they know that we both will be gone for 12 weeks at the same time.

Week 7 - Tuesday, December 9, 2014
Just like with Turner, I had another 'spotting' during week 7. I really didn't think any thing of it but wanted to call the nurse line just to be sure. They talked with my doctors and asked me to come in for blood work to make sure my HCG levels were high enough. I had blood drawn on Wednesday, December 3 and then again on Friday, December 5. They called me that Friday after they got the results and didn't think my HCG levels went up as much as they would have liked (13k+ to 24k). They ordered an ultrasound that afternoon. Drank water like they told me to...went in and had to pee so BAD..like hurting. Finally got called back and they immediately put on camera and my bladder was pushing so far down into my uterus they needed me to go empty it. haha...I think I drank too much water. She did the internal scope then and that's where we could see everything. I measured only at 5 week, 6 days...but based on my cycle, I was 6 weeks, 4 days. We could see the heart beating and was able to measure that. I felt a HUGE relief that everything was OK and that our lil' baby was safely growing.

Week 8 - Tuesday, December 16, 2014
The fatigue hit me hard this week. I also really don't have an appetite. If I do...it's for bad stuff and I feel like utter crap the rest of the day. No puking...thank gosh but definitely nausea. I remember being tired while pregnant with Turner, but I don't remember my appetite being this bad. We told my sister this past weekend so there is another person that now knows. She was coming with me to a Christmas party with some of my girlfriends and I wanted her assistance in drinking the wine in my glass so no one would suspect anything. It worked and she's thrilled about getting another nephew or a niece.

Week 9 - Tuesday, December 23, 2014
I am beyond thrilled this day is FINALLY here because we get to share the news with family. Even if we didn't plan on sharing it this early, I really can't hide it without wearing a sweatshirt. My pants are getting tighter already (this didn't happen until week 15 with Turner) and I already have a pooch of a belly.

Week 10 - Tuesday, December 30, 2014
We made it through Christmas and EVERYONE is beyond excited for us! We told both families and a few friends in WI that we don't see often. My mom cried again! ha. I knew she would. Tate's family was overjoyed and can't wait for the new arrival. Every time we told family, there was cheer and loud clapping...Turner would get so excited and join in. It was adorable. Tate's Grandma knew I was pregnant before saying anything because my belly gave it away. She said I normally don't have anything there and when I took off my coat and she saw that, she knew but didn't want to say anything not knowing for sure. I finally have a doctor appointment next week and I can't wait. I want to hear that lil' heartbeat and know that everything is OK. I plan to tell work after that appointment because I honestly can't hide it much longer. We will tell the rest of our close friends after that also and then post something once we surpass the safe zone (between week 12-14).

Week 11 - Tuesday, January 6, 2015
I had my first OB appointment today and I was so excited to go. Not only because I would be able to hear the heartbeat and know everything was OK, but to also see my doctor. I loved seeing her often during my pregnancy with Turner and always hoped she'd still be at same clinic when future children arrived. Was able to hear the heartbeat. It was nice and strong at 160. Everything looked good to her and had a bunch of blood drawn and urine test done. Everything came back normal so that's good. We are not OK to tell people. I plan to do a cute photo thing with Turner to share the news with our friends, Facebook and Blog world.

I have been feel more energized which is nice. I actually was having some pregnancy insomnia though...or just waking up super early ready for the day. I really don't mind since I am totally a morning person...but then I would be getting super tired and ready for bed around 8. During my few days off last week, I was able to cross everything off my list that I wanted to get done. I've been still craving horrible food but trying so hard to make good decisions. I really haven't ate any veggies since finding out so I am trying to hide those in food to actually get the nutritional value from those. I'm really excited for this weekend as we have it jammed pack with family stuff. We have my Mom's side family Christmas and then on Sunday I have my sister's 'family' wedding shower at my aunt's home.

I have also had to resort to the belly band for some of my work pants now. My belly right now is the same size I was at week 15 for Turner. I don't mind but it's just hard hiding it when no very many people know. I plan to tell work next week. That will be a relief because I am running out of clothes to wear that hides it.

Week 12 - Tuesday, January 13, 2015
I FINALLY told my bosses and co workers this week and that felt like a HUGE relief. Not having to hide my bump anymore is nice. I also called and text messaged my close girlfriends to share the news with them. We will probably post to social media next week so that every one will know.

I've still been hitting up the gym 3-4 days a week in the morning. That will only happen this week and next then tax season starts and that is when I go over lunch. I usually wake very early and work from home in the morning. My brain works best in the morning and it's nice to get a lil' break in the middle of the day to run/walk or lift weights @ the gym during my really long days during tax season.

My energy is slowly coming back, which is nice. I'm getting project done around the house. I feel like I have a HUGE to do list of things Tate and I (mostly I) want to get done before baby #2 arrives. Some items on this list take longer than others (staining) but I'm excited to continue to work on stuff during tax season because I am determined :) and I know I'll have my nice 2nd trimester energy to push me through it.

Week 13 - Tuesday, January 20, 2015
I'm so excited we are finally to week 13 because today we will share this amazing news with the rest of the world. We will be posting to social media tonight. Tate still needed to tell some of his team. I have my next doctor appointment at week 15, right before we leave for Jamaica. I'm excited to go see my doctor again and hear the heartbeat. Not much has changed this week than last except more people knowing we are expecting. Gearing up for tax season and getting house projects done...that's how I spend my free time when Turner's sleeping.

Big Brother...

Turner is without a doubt so excited to check EVERYTHING off his to do list. Some of you may have seen via social media, but we are BEYOND excited to announce we will be expanding our family and adding another lil' miracle. We feel so blessed.

My official due date is July 28, 2015.
